On advice from my friend Natalie, I decided to finally try Dior nail polish, and I can say I'm in love. So thank you Natalie! The brush is curved and perfectly follows the curve of your nail and doesn't leave streaks. A huge point for Dior is that it dries FAST! I have no patience when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry, so this was the first time I painted my nails and didn't have them smudged in minutes.

Like many fashion obsessed folk, I read about the Cartier film to celebrate their 165th birthday, but I never took the time to watch the actual film. I figured it would just be a beautiful Shalom Harlow lounging around in gorgeous jewels I could never afford. But last night, while watching an episode of the Good Wife, the short film aired and for a few minutes I was completely and utterly captivated. To say the short film was beautiful would be an understatement. If you have yet to watch, I suggest you get on it immediately!

I am a HUGE sneaker fan, so you can imagine my excitement when I heard that two of my favourite fashion icons, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were collaborating with Italian sneaker company Superga. The shoes come in linen and cashmere, black, blue, grey and white. I cannot wait to get my hands on a pair!

I often put on a new shirt or sweater over a pair of jeans and feel like the whole look is missing something. I used to layer under my tops ribbed tank tops from American Apparel and Aritzia, but a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon the most amazing layering tank top EVER! Club Monaco has this drapey, silk, tank with an irregular cut that fits perfect under all my sweaters and tops without looking too bulky. LOVE.

Thanks to my sister, I can confirm that I am 100% obsessed with Downton Abbey. I'm late to hop on the bandwagon, but I have arrived non-the-less. While watching, I can't help but 1)be inspired by the costumes and 2)wish I lived in a time where we got dressed for dinner with the family. So many collections seen this February are inspired by the show, but one that stuck out the most was Tadashi Shoji. His collection made my Downton dreams come true.

Finally, after literally years of debate, I decided to buy Sam Edelman's Zoe boots. Everytime time I see a photo of an Olsen walking around town in their Balenciaga versions, my sartorial heart hurts. I never intend to take these babies off, and wearing them everywhere from the coffee shop to grocery store and then out at night. Also, something must be said for ShopBop delivery service. I ordered these on Monday afternoon (a North American holiday) and they arrived by Tuesday evening. Awesome.

I never like to have on a face full of makeup. For me, the most natural look is my favorite. One thing I will never leave home without, however, is my Chanel Inimitable mascara. It goes on so smooth, never dries or flakes and makes my lashes look full and long. I've tried many others from Stila to Dior, but always find myself coming back to good old faithful Chanel.

I wish I could say I was on of those girls who never worn track pants or jeans and always wore heels (a la the Kardashian sisters & Gossip Girls Blair & Serena), but truth be told, I love my lounge wear. Nothing makes me happier than coming home, removing my skinny jeans and shoes and slipping into a pair of Free City tracks an old school sweater and wool socks. Free City is by far my favorite brand for tracks and sweaters. They come in an awesome assortment of color and have by far the softest feel on the inside of the material that makes you never want to take them off. These babies go with me everywhere, from sitting by the fire at the cottage to drinking wine and watching bad movies at a friends place.

I have finally purchased a new pair of glasses! I have been using the same two pairs since grade 8 when I listened to every suggestion my mother made. I've been eyeing a pair of Grace Kelly'esque glasses for some time now and finally settled on this pair by Oliver Peoples. I love them!

Ps. I know my eye glasses is an odd thing to blog about, but really, a pair of old glasses that no longer fit your face shape really can ruin a whole look.

My favorite sweater that I swiped from my grandfather. It's perfect. It goes over everything, looks well worn and complete with wholes and pulled threads. It's my go-to cardigan.

I received this Deborah Lippmann nailpolish in my November Topbox and am in love with it. It goes on clear with just a bit of sparkle and makes my nails just a little more holiday ready. A side bonus: because it is basically clear with a bit of sparkly, you can't see it chip and therefore it seems to last a while!

This time, it's Dr.Zoe Hart who has me living in loose knit Vince sweaters and J Brand boyfriend jeans. A cousin of mine from Indonesia recently brought me these two clutches. They are by an Indonesian accessory designer, Tasha D, who is absolutely brilliant. Her designs are always so different and while these clutches are pretty classic, they have a unique detail in the baubles, which can be removed.

I can't belive it is actually their first Vogue cover when they are such trendsetters and so influential in the fashion industry. It's been a while since I have found myself crazy obsessed with a blog,(a personal style blog) for that matter, but I have now found a blog which I literally check every morning and every evening and sometimes in between. The blog is by Samanta Swetra called Wear the Wild and has daily posts of her style. But, what sets it apart from the rest is that a) she provides actually useful style advice and b)she has a crazy knack for mixing high-end (Celine) and low-end (Forever 21) fashion in a way that always makes her look like a million bucks. Definately spare a few minutes and check it out.

Topshop opened its doors in Canada for the first time on October 6th. I was unfortunately unable to make it to the store that day, which is sad because my favorite It Girl and a personal style icon, Haryley Viera-Newton was present DJing the whole day, but I did manage to make it in on Friday to take a quick peak. I felt like I was in the London store. It is quite large and has an amazing selection. A side bonus is that the prices were awesome. I managed to pick up a long sleep striped short dress for $40, not including my student discount of 10%.

I am on a huge denim kick right now. Actually as I type, I am rocking denim on denim, or "The Canadian Tuxedo". Up here in the great white north (Canada) we are about to start our Thanksgiving long weekend. I have packed about 2 pairs of jeans and multiple chambray shirts. All to be paired with a beaten up leather jacket and either converse chucks or motorcycle boots. I may even snap an outfit photo or two...

So here, finally, are the purchases I made from the Missoni for Target collaboration. By the time I got to Target afterwork, it was nearly all cleared out, save for almost all the children's clothing. I'm happy that the shoes were still there (and in my size!!!) because I absolutely love them. In fact, I'm wearing them right now. I also have bought a black knit sweater with a flower detail from the collection, but it's not really my favourite, so let me know if you are interested in buying it before I put it up on eBay!

I am obsessed with Wynona Rider circa the 90s, Reality Bites era. That movie is a constant source for inspiration, from both male and female characters. Even in real life, Wynona's 90s style, which consisted of worn in leathers and distressed denim, was so flawless and cool.

NYFW has officially come to an end and now all fashion folk have hopped on their planes and are watching an array of British designers send their creations down the runways at LFW. Looking back at pictures from NYFW, I must say I do wish that I was there at some of those after parties! I would have loved to be on the guest list at Alexander Wang's "Frat Party" after party.

Besides their music though, I love their style. Leather jackets, skinny jeans, hi-tops, ray bans and t-shirts...perfection.

Last Thursday I went to an event hosted by The Bay's Room in celebration of Lesley M.M. Blume's book "Let's Bring Back". My date for the evening and I both agreed we felt very much like Gossip Girl characters during the night, rubbing elbows with Canada's fashion society, including Jennie Beker, and president and CEO of the Bay, Bonnie Brooks. To say the least, it was an amazing night!

Tomorrow I leave for California and won't be back for a week! I will have lots to post about then!

In case you haven't heard, the Olsen's twins are now branching out into the world wide web and are creating a new site set to launch in July. It is supposed to be similar to Kate Bosworth's Jewel Mint, but I don't have much more info on it just yet - but it is done by the Olsen's so I really don't think it can go wrong.
